Working with the same team who produced Foamcrest Apartments, Beach House Newport is a study in high quality relaxed beachside dwelling. The aim of the design was to provide seven north facing apartments in a building that has the character of a singular beach house and makes a positive contribution to this special Northern Beaches precinct. The masonry base and lightweight upper level structure contribute to a highly modulated composition which responds appropriately to each aspect and orientation. A carefully selected palette of materials including long format bricks, off-form concrete, Australian hardwoods, fibre cement cladding and copper were chosen to weather beautifully over time in the coastal environment. Privacy is meticulously balanced against outlook. The solar passive, highly insulated construction ensures exemplary energy performance. The design features high ceilings, exposed structure and a sense of space and light that we believe will set it apart from other apartments.
